Q4 Net Profit up 53% YoY

NIIT Limited recorded Net Revenues of 323.7 Cr during Jan-March 2011 quarter, up 10% YoY. The company’s Profit After Tax grew 53% YoY to 37.8 Cr. The company’s EBITDA for the quarter stood at 40.5 Cr, representing an EBITDA margin of 13%.

The consolidated global system-wide annual revenue for the year ended March 31, 2011, stood at 1907.2 Cr, while the annual net revenue was recorded at 1248.3 Cr. EBITDA for the Financial Year 2010- 11 was 159.3 Cr. PAT for the year grew by 31% to result in an EPS of 5.6 per share.

The results were taken on record at the meeting of the Board of Directors here today.

The Board has also proposed a dividend of 75%, amounting to 1.50 per share.

Individual Learning Solutions (IT) recorded a 19% increase in IT Career enrolments on net revenues of 122.1 Cr. Placements grew 43% in Q4 reflecting strong acceptance of NIIT students by the industry.

Training on Android platform in association with Google, commenced this quarter. The fourth quarter also saw NIIT entering into a strategic alliance with Zend Technologies to launch global PHP training and certification program.

ILS (IT) net revenues for the year grew 10%, backed by strong growth of 66% in job-oriented diploma programs and a robust 23% growth in the China Business. Placements for the full year grew 31%.

During the year NIIT entered into a number of strategic partnerships to offer high end training and introduced programs to re-skill professionals to meet industry needs. The company announced partnerships with- SAP for ERP training; Google for certified ‘Advanced Online Advertising’ program for advertising and marketing professional; Tally to create skilled workforce for small and medium businesses (SMBs) on next generation business management solutions and IGNOU for industry linked Executive MBA and Finishing School Programs as well as BSc (IT) for select international markets.

NIIT further expanded its reach during the year, by strengthening its presence in Brunei and Indonesia. The company brought together technology leaders in the first-ever Technology Partner Conclave in Ghana to educate youth in the latest technologies.

New Businesses led by Finance & Management Training (FMT) recorded a 28% YoY growth in revenue during Q4. Institute of Finance, Banking and Insurance (IFBI) added new customers for training programs in the BFSI industry including- UBI, Corporation Bank and Canara Bank.

Corporate Learning Solutions recorded net revenues of 152.6 Cr during Q4, coupled with a strong order intake of USD 40 Mn and a closing order book of USD 98 Mn.

During the year, Learning Products from Element K grew 19%. In addition to Philips, Corporate Learning Solutions added 5 more significant customers this year, through multi-year Managed Training Services engagements.

School Learning Solutions recorded net revenues of 37.4 Cr during Q4. It signed up 196 private schools during the quarter, growing by 94% over the same period last year.

NIIT further strengthened its Private schools offerings with the launch of Mobile Science Lab in association with Fourier Systems, a leader in science education in FY 2010-11.

During the year 581 private schools were added, growing by 76% over last year.

NIIT also associated with the Gujarat government during the year, to set a New Guinness World Record in simultaneous Chess, where 20,480 players played Chess together, under the guidance of World Chess Champion and NIIT MindChampion Viswanathan Anand. Over 12,000 participants were school students from the NIIT MindChampions’ Academy- a joint initiative by NIIT and Anand to promote Chess in schools.

NIIT’s thrust on alignment of people practices with its overall business strategy to create a positive employment experience, continued to get industry accolades. NIIT and Zend Forge Alliance to Launch Global PHP Training and Certification Program

- First-of-its kind alliance to develop skilled workforce on PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor) the world’s most widely-used language for building dynamic Web applications

NIIT entered into a strategic alliance with Zend Technologies, the leading provider of software and services for developing, deploying and managing business-critical PHP applications for on-premise and cloud computing environments. Under this partnership, NIIT will offer training programs on PHP and Zend Framework to create a talent pool of high-quality PHP developers and Zend Certified Engineers.

Today, PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor) runs 35 percent of the world’s Web sites and is the fastest growing language for building dynamic Web applications with a strong community of over 4.5 million developers worldwide. Deployed at more than 35,000 companies worldwide, the Zend family of PHP software products delivers a comprehensive solution supporting the entire application lifecycle.

With an increasing number of companies choosing PHP as their platform for building Web applications, there is a rising demand for skilled PHP professionals. Zend and NIIT will customize the content for absorption within the Indian market and deliver it through its network of training centres. Zend’s industry-acclaimed Certification program (Zend Certified Engineer for PHP 5.3 and Zend Certified Engineer for Zend Framework) will be leveraged by NIIT to certify PHP programmers, thus creating a talent pool for trained PHP professionals in the country.

NIIT Conducts 7th National I.T. Aptitude Test – NITAT

- NITAT, country’s largest IT Aptitude Test, to identify Job-Ready Talent for the growing I.T. Industry

NIIT conducted the country’s largest IT Aptitude Test— 7th National I.T. Aptitude Test (NITAT) —simultaneously in over 120 cities to enable students and graduates to calibrate their potential and aptitude for a career in the promising IT industry.

As per latest industry figures announced by NASSCOM, the Indian IT and ITes industry is estimated to grow by 19% to reach USD 76 billion in FY2011, thereby adding 240,000 jobs in FY 2011. Further, the outlook for the coming financial year remains positive with software and services export revenues expected to grow by 16-18 per cent and domestic revenues to grow by 15-17 per cent in the FY 2011-12. These figures are a reflection of the growing positive sentiments within the IT and ITeS sector which will make a large pool of job-ready manpower a necessity.

NITAT aims at fulfilling this need by identifying a ready talent pool for immediate absorption by the industry. NITAT has been designed as an objective type test of reasoning, comprehension, data interpretation skills and behavioural traits.

NIIT’s pioneering initiative —NITAT— was introduced in 2004 to enable graduates and students pursuing their studies in engineering, arts, commerce and science streams to gauge their aptitude for a career in the IT sector, identify skills further required, if any, and thus systematically charter their career into the IT industry. Nearly 4,00,000 candidates have benefitted from the test since it was initiated.

NIIT is also awarding Dewang Mehta Scholarships for graduates and students graduating in 2011 who are keen to be associated with the IT industry.

NIIT Uniqua Launches Specialised Technical and Soft Skill Training Program for Uttar Pradesh Police Personnel

A novel initiative to assist Uttar Pradesh Police on dial “SEVA 100” for offering efficient services to citizens

NIIT Uniqua- Centre for Process Excellence, launched a specialized technical and soft skill training program for Uttar Pradesh Police. The objective of the training program was to offer technical and soft skill training to police personnel which will help them efficiently handle calls made to the emergency no. 100.

The training capsule will include training on call opening, call handling, taking down required information, providing a complaint number to the caller, giving emergency assistance through basic advice on phone, alert the local PCR van at the time of emergency etc. These people will also be trained on soft skills and etiquette to communicate politely and gently with the citizens and change the public perception about the police force.
